Orchids are rare and exotic flowers coming from far away countries in hot and humid climates. Well, some of this is correct, but there is far more to learn. There are over 25,000 natural species in nature and over 100,000 hybrids grown around the world by both orchid experts and hobbyists. Our local food stores and flower shops now often offer a few orchids to whet our appetites for the beautiful and the exotic. In Canada, orchids can be found from coast to coast with our own Bruce Peninsula, only a short distance away, being the home of over 40 native species.

Upon your visit to the RBG Orchid Show, you will experience displays of thousands of beautiful plants. Orchid growing experts, hobbyists and volunteers are there to share their knowledge and their love of orchids with you. You’ll enjoy the show, you may possibly even take a plant or two home with you and before you know it, your windowsills are full, and you have to resort to growing your plants in a spare bedroom or in the basement to satisfy your love of orchids.
